چکیده

In this study, a relation-based dam suitability analysis (RDSA) technique is developed to identify the most suitable sites for dams. The methodology focused on group of important parameters/indicators (stream order, terrain roughness index, slope, multiresolution valley bottom flatness closed depression, depth, and downslope gradient difference) their relation wall reservoir suitability. Quantitative assessment results in an elevation-area-capacity (EAC) curve substantiating capacity determination selected sites. also incorporates estimation soil erosion (SE) using Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) model sediment yield at RDSA identifies two (A B) with maximum collective approximately 1202 million m3. was validated existing dam, Gomal-Zam, north Sanghar catchment, where classified Gomal-Zam Dam very high class. SE estimates show average 75 t-ha−1y−1 loss occurs study area. result shows 298,073 318,000 tons annual (SY) will feed A B respectively. SE-based substantiates approximate life Dam-A Dam-B be 87 90 years, approach dynamic can applied any other location globally site selection estimation.

Potential of Rainwater Harvesting and Greywater Reuse for Water Consumption Reduction and Wastewater Minimization

Northeastern Mexico is a semiarid region with water scarcity and a strong pressure on water sources caused by the rapid increase of population and industrialization. In this region, rainwater harvesting alone is not enough to meet water supply demands due to the irregular distribution of rainfall in time and space. Thus, in this study the reliability of integrating rainwater harvesting with gre...

Sustainability of Rainwater Harvesting System in terms of Water Quality

Water is considered an everlasting free source that can be acquired naturally. Demand for processed supply water is growing higher due to an increasing population. Sustainable use of water could maintain a balance between its demand and supply. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is the most traditional and sustainable method, which could be easily used for potable and nonpotable purposes both in reside...

Evaluation of water supply for olive trees through rainwater harvesting in semi-arid regions in Kohgiloyeh va Boyerahmad Province

Abstract Lack of stored soil moisture is an essential factor in intensification of the problems of arid and semi-arid areas in Kohgiloyeh va Boyerahmad Province. In these areas, limited surface water and groundwater have rendered vast areas of the region’s fertile lands useless. Despite these problems, appropriate conditions can be provided to plant resistant and adapted species such as olive...
